Faïencerie Georges

Founded in 1898 in Nevers, Faïencerie Georges perpetuates an exceptional artisanal craftsmanship. Each piece is born from a meticulous process: shaping the clay, biscuit firing at 1060°C, glazing, hand-painted decoration, and a second high-temperature firing.

Traditionally known for its iconic Bleu de Nevers, the house now embraces more contemporary motifs — scenes of everyday life, industrial décors, and animals — while preserving its historic signature of the “two green knots”.

Under the direction of the fourth generation, the house blends ceramic heritage with a contemporary perspective: the workshop combines classic forms (plates, dishes, vases) with modernised shapes and hand-painted limited editions. Every piece receives meticulous care, from the trace of the handmade gesture to the final finish, affirming Faïencerie Georges as a bridge between heritage and contemporary creation.
